Why we started our restaurant?

At Amar Khamar, we believe that the way we choose to cultivate, process and consume our food can change the world for the better. We see the culture of home-cooked and conscious consumption of food as a way of life. 

Hence, we have opened our restaurant, where we celebrate food shaped by years of unacknowledged excellence in the kitchens of our very homes. Food built by years of labour and love by our mothers, aunts and grandmothers. Dishes from the roots, made to remind you of the flavours of home.

With prime produce from our farming communities across different districts of Bengal, we bring you the diversity of a Bengali home-cooked meal. Respecting seasonal shifts, each morsel is packed with immense flavour and takes you across regions and the diverse kitchens of Bengal. A reflection of not one but several homes across Bengal, just like our ingredients.
